SCZONE witnesses the signing of land allocating for a water pump maintenance center with investments of $ 5 million

Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), witnessed the signing of a contract to allocate an area of 30 thousand square meters for Torishima the Japanese Company to establish a center for assembly, manufacturing, supply, and maintenance of huge water pumps which is necessary for some industrial and civil purposes for sewage treatment and desalination plants within the “Industria Sokhna” project which is owned by Elsewedy Industrial Development, a subsidiary of Elsewedy Electric.

The contract was signed by Engineer Mohamed AlKammah, CEO of Elsewedy Industrial Development, Mr. Alister Fleet, COO of Torishima Group, in the presence of Engineer Ashraf Saleh, General Manager of Torishima Middle East, and Mr. Ralph Van Niekirk, Operations Director of Torishima Service Solutions Egypt, and both Mr. Hassan Hussein and Eng. Adel Saleh, Heads of the Torishima Commercial Agency in Egypt.

The cooperation between the two sides helps Torishima to invest up to USD 5 million in creating a state-of-the-art pump service facility for serving the Egyptian market, and these investments will be increased within five years.

In this context, Engineer Mohamed AlKammah, CEO of Elsewedy Industrial Development, expressed his happiness with the project, which confirms that Egypt has promising investment opportunities in the industrial sector, especially in the manufacture of pumps and their accessories. He stressed that Elsewedy Industrial Development Company is working to attract investments.

“The company currently owns a large and diversified portfolio of lands amounting to about 27 million square meters, distributed over a number of zones and projects such as the Tenth of Ramadan, the Sixth of October, Sadat, and some African countries.” Alkammah declared.

It is worth noting that the Torishima Group intends, through the service center in the Sokhna area to rehabilitate and increase the efficiency of Motors and pumps owned by the Egyptian Government, which have been out of service for years for many industries.
