SCZONE’s chairman witness the MoU signing between El-Sweedy and EBRD for the technical training

Within the framework of the prominent activity carried out by the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) in order to achieve the targeted economic goals, Mr. Waleid Gamal El Dein, Chairman of SCZONE and Eng. Ahmed El Sewedy, Chairman of El Sewedy Electric witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between El Sewedy Technical Academy (STA) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). It aims to provide the necessary support for the technical manpower in green hydrogen projects and other fields such as logistics, tourism services, iron, and steel.

The MoU was signed between Ms. Hanan Al-Rihani, CEO of the Al-Sewedy Technical Academy, and Ms. Barbara Rambousek, Gender & Economic Inclusion Director, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The MoU aims to unify the efforts to develop new initiatives and programs in the fields of technical education and vocational training through the new branch of El-Sweedy Technical Academy, to be established in SCZONE. It will also offer a priority to green energy fields to enhance the potential of SCZONE in this field by providing trained technical labors.

“SCZONE seeks to localize the green fuel industry and is qualified to be a regional hub for this industry due to its capabilities that enable it to manufacture, export, and supply ships with it. This cooperation comes between El Sewedy Technical Academy (STA) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in terms of qualifying trained labors to deal with all stages of the green Fuel industry. This cooperation serves one of the most important priorities of SCZONE, which is creating new job opportunities and qualifying the technical labors.” Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dein, Chairman of SCZONE stated.

It is worth mentioning that the MoU enables the two parties to exchange experiences and information in order to monitor the needs of the labor market and investors. They will support employers to provide wide-ranging training programs that develop the skills of the current and targeted workforce to localize the green hydrogen industry within the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE).
