SCZONE’s chairman and a Hungarian company discuss establishing Rolling stock & cars maintenance projects in East Port Said

Within the framework of promoting investment opportunities in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of SCZONE, met with officials of a Hungarian company working in the manufacture of railway vehicles & rolling stock. The company is cooperating with the National Egyptian Railway Industry Company (NERIC)in the industrial zone in East Port Said. It will supply 1,350 railway vehicles, 500 of which will be received during the next months.

It’s a pleasure to discuss the means of cooperation in this field, as Egypt attaches great importance to this industry to localize. We have the opportunity to explore joint cooperation in new projects and study the potential of establishing service and maintenance centers for the Hungarian company in East Port Said. These efforts will qualify SCZONE to become a regional and global hub for the services of the company’s industries and exporting its products to African and foreign markets.

The chairman of SCZONE also met representatives of major Hungarian companies working in communications and information technology. They discussed cooperation in establishing data centers, control, and monitoring systems for ports. The discussions included investment opportunities in the fields of the technology sector, data centers, and smart solutions.
