SCZONE signs a cooperation protocol with Banque du Caire to support SCZONE promotional plan and projects

The General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) signed a cooperation protocol with Banque du Caire to enhance cooperation to achieve SCZONE’s plan to promote investment opportunities. The protocol was signed by Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, SCZONE Chairman, and Mr. Tarek Fayed, Chairman of the Bank, in the presence of several leaders representing both sides.

“SCZONE is keen to expand the horizons of partnerships and cooperation in several fields. It attaches the utmost importance to investment in its projects, especially infrastructure and technology. So far, SCZONE has invested nearly $3 billion to implement various infrastructure projects and adhere to international specifications and standards during the implementation stages to accommodate the development of the latest generations of industrial projects. SCZONE does not hesitate to continue projects to develop its affiliated ports in an accelerated manner following its strategic vision and in line with the vision of the Egyptian country in the advancement of all Egyptian ports. This is to enhance the added value of the passage of a large segment of global trade through the Suez Canal, as well as efforts to promote investment opportunities available in SCZONE, especially the green energy sector. This huge volume of investments requires strengthening partnerships with various financing institutions, whether in providing financial support or advisory services for projects.” Mr. Walied Gamal El-Dien stated

“The agreement aims to enhance cooperation between Banque du Caire and the Suez Canal Economic Zone by promoting promising investment opportunities in SCZONE that are of interest to the bank’s customers through its network of branches across the country and its representative office in the United Arab Emirates. The agreement also contributes to introducing the services provided by SCZONE to investors, finding partnerships to transfer knowledge and technology, facilitating communication between SCZONE and the bank’s customers wishing to invest in the zone, and finding partners for investors wishing to expand. As well as cooperating with SCZONE in conducting some sectoral studies on its targeted sectors. The Bank’s representative office in the UAE will play an active role in the agreement through several efforts, including organizing bilateral or group meetings for the bank’s customers abroad during SCZONE’s roadshow tours, as well as providing a link to overcome all obstacles that may face investors in the GCC.” Mr. Tarek Fayed explained

It is worth noting that SCZONE aims in its promotional plan for the current fiscal year 2023-2024, to reach major markets around the world by conducting promotional tours to target countries to showcase the investment opportunities available within the zone in various industrial and logistical sectors and in ports.
