SCZONE meets the delegation of the British trade mission to Egypt

Within the framework of its promotional efforts to attract investments in the targeted sectors within its strategic vision, the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), received the delegation of the British Trade Mission to Egypt in light of the meeting organized by the Egyptian British Chamber of Commerce. The meeting was held in the presence of Dr. Ibrahim Abdel Khalek, Vice chairman for Investment and Promotion Affairs, Ms. Amani Essawi, SCZONE’s Advisor for International Relations, Mr. Gareth Bayley, UK Ambassador to Cairo, and several British companies’ owners who are working in green fuel and water desalination industries. The meeting was exploring the investment opportunities offered by SCZONE.

At the outset of the meeting, the Vice-chairman demonstrated the great readiness that SCZONE has to receive industries in various fields, especially the field of green fuel, green fuel feeding industries, and complementary industries such as water desalination. He also mentioned that SCZONE signed 23 MOUs regarding the production of green fuel with major international consortiums, including British companies.

“The Egyptian president inaugurated the first green hydrogen project in the Sokhna industrial zone during the proceedings of the last climate summit in Sharm El-Sheikh. SCZONE is providing investment incentives for successful partners working within its scope, as well as the special incentives that the Egyptian government is considering for green fuel industries. We aim to make SCZONE the regional hub for that industry due to the integration between the industrial zones and the affiliated ports, as well as the distinguished location and the availability of Renewable energy resources, whether wind energy or solar energy needed to produce green fuel.” Dr. Ibrahim Abdel Khalek declared

The meeting also discussed the delegation inquiries of the British companies’ owners about the investment advantages of SCZONE. The discussions included the availability of infrastructure and the competitive prices that SCZONE is offering compared to its regional counterparts. The vice chairman also pointed to the continuation of development work in the ports of SCZONE to qualify them with the highest global standards to receive various types of ships, especially the modern generations of them.
