SCZONE delegation heads to China and Hong Kong to attract various investments

A delegation from the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), headed by Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, chairman of SCZONE will leave on Sunday for China and Hong Kong, to attend the Egyptian-Chinese Investment Forum held in Beijing, as well as demonstrating the investment opportunities of SCZONE to major Chinese companies and the businessmen community, as well as discussing means of joint cooperation in new projects with the Chinese “TEDA Group”, which is one of the largest and most important industrial developers in the Sokhna integrated zone.

“We set the coordination and the preparations with Mr. Asim Hanafi, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the People’s Republic of China. The delegation of SCZONE will attend the Chinese-Egyptian Investment Forum to demonstrate investment opportunities and targeted industrial sectors within SCZONE, whether in the affiliated ports or the industrial zones. We are trying to give the Chinese business community a glimpse of what we have achieved, as well as to meet major Chinese companies and advance relations between the two sides in light of the strong bilateral and joint economic and trade relations between the two countries.” Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, chairman of SCZONE, declared.

“I had recent meetings with Mr. Liao Liqiang, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Cairo, in which we emphasized more cooperation in various fields, to represent a greater breakthrough for China from Egypt towards African markets and neighboring countries, through The ports and industrial zones of SCZONE. We have full coordination for this promotional visit to discuss new means of cooperation and expansion of business with Chinese companies, in terms of the bilateral partnership that has proven successful over the years.” Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien said.

“ We also coordinate with Ambassador, Baher Al-Shuwaikh, Consul General of Egypt to Hong Kong, to discuss means of cooperation and attract various investments within SCZONE to enhance economic exchange between the two sides, and to make an orientation about the industrial sectors that can be invested in, especially that Egypt pays great attention to the settlement of the automotive, green fuel and its complementary industries, as well as various industries such as food, electronics, iron industries, and others, in addition to exchanging experiences in the fields of ports and logistics.” Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien added.

This promotional mission to the Chinese capital, Beijing – the second station for SCZONE in the Asian continent – comes as part of the efforts towards attracting various investments and achieving SCZONE’s strategy for 2020/2025 in attracting and localizing a number of targeted industries, and for SCZONE to become a strategic hub for the global economy.
