SCZONE chairman and the Chinese ambassador launch the experimental operation of a new production line at Jushi Egypt in Sokhna

Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dein, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), accompanied by Ambassador Liao Liqiang, the Chinese Ambassador to Cairo, launched the pilot operation of the new production line for Jushi-Egypt facility for “fiberglass” industry with a production capacity of 200 thousand tons annually in the Sokhna Zone.

Jushi-Egypt operates in Sokhna industrial zone, inside El Sewedy Industrial Development.

” It is a pleasure to witness the new expansions of Jushi Egypt, as SCZONE has the keenness to provide various aspects of support to its partners in success ,industrial developers, and operators, as this is an integral pillar of SCZONE’s strategy. SCZONE also works on attracting specific sectors targeted by Egypt and the regional market, to localize them during the upcoming period including complementary industries for green fuel projects such as electroayzers, water desalination membranes data centers, and others. SCZONE is ready to conduct the necessary economic studies for these projects. Being here is part of the strategic partnership between Egypt and China. SCZONE’s officials will make a promotional visit in the first half of the Next year 2023, in coordination with the Chinese ambassador in Cairo and the industrial developer TEDA-Egypt, as part of the promotional tours that SCZONE targets for the coming phase” Waleid Gamal El-Dein declared.

“Egypt and China have a historical relationship, especially the economic and trade relations that are witnessing remarkable development, whether through bilateral cooperation in the Belt and Road Initiative or bilateral cooperation to face common challenges. I want to express my country’s appreciation for the active role that Egypt played during the pandemic. We also value the role of SCZONE in overcoming these difficulties with the Chinese partners through unprecedented procedures and facilities provided. China welcomes the visit of SCZONE’s officials to discuss means of cooperation between the two sides. There are several Chinese businessmen and large companies that wish to invest in SCZONE because of its potential and prime location. Geographically, it contributes to advancing the trade movement between the two countries. The Chinese side has the will to cooperate in various economic fields, especially green energy fields, due to the presence of distinguished Chinese companies in this industry that have projects currently in the Middle East.” The Chinese ambassador stated

It is worth to be mentioned that, Jushi Egypt Company is a subsidiary of the Chinese Jushi, working in fiberglass industry in the Sokhna Integrated Zone of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE). The current project consists of 3 production lines, with an investment cost of $600 million, and a production capacity of 250 thousand tons.
