East port said port receives the first vessel carrying the new Al-Ferdan Floating bridge equipment’s.
After the opening of the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt the new terminal of Port Said East Port, the opening of Port Said tunnels at the end of November 2019, within the framework of supporting the economic zone and also the development of Sinai.
East Port Said Port of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) received today, Tuesday, December 24, 2019 the first ship (CS FLOURISH) coming from Shanghai carrying the equipment and components of Al-Ferdan Railway floating bridge that connects Sinai to the west of the canal.
“It is the first ship out of a total of (12) ships arriving consecutively in the coming months, with a cargo capacity of 7,340 tons and a volume of approximately 20,000 cubic meters”. Yehia Zaki, Chairman of Suez Canal Economic zone announced.
“The Chinese company that carries out the construction process and raises the efficiency and duplication of Al-Ferdan Bridge floating railway which will link the east and west of the canal, it will strongly support East Port Said Port’s competitiveness in terms of finding multimodal transport”. Zaki said.
Over the past eight months, the Chinese company had coordinated with the management of East Port Said Port to study the best way to deliver bridge equipment and components to the execution site.
The company has informed many companies operating in the field of land and maritime transport and logistics that in turn carried out many visits and inspections to the port, and the result of the study was that:
The implementation of the operation from the new berth of Port Said East Port, and the prices offered for handling and storage in the port are the best, compared to the rest of the Egyptian ports. During this period, SCZone has taken all the measurers to make the new terminal a customs zone which all types of general cargos can be handled and to make the port the main seaport.
This will support all the needs of the coming strategic projects in developing Sinai and the port to be the best outlet for its exports.
