Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), witnessed the foundation stone laying ceremony for the ‘Eroglu Egypt Readymade Garments’ project in the Qantara West Industrial Zone, in cooperation with the Turkish Eroglu Holding Company. The total investment of the project after expansion will reach 51 million dollars, and it is located on a total area estimated at about 84.2 thousand square kilometers. The project is expected to provide about 5,000 job opportunities after its operation.
The ceremony was attended by: Major General Pilot Akram Galal, Governor of Ismailia, the Turkish Ambassador to Cairo, Mr. Salih Mutlu Şen, the Chairman of Eroglu S.C. Readymade Garment Group, Mr. Sahin Eroglu, and Mr. Ummet Eroglu, Vice Chairman of Eroglu Holding Company, Mr. Mustafa Denzir, representative of the Turkish Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK), and SCZONE Deputies for the Northern Zone, Investment and Promotion, and a group of SCZONE leaders and Turkish businessmen.
“The Qantara West zone enjoys various competitive advantages represented in the availability of trained technical workers and raw materials, which qualifies it to become a global industrial entity in the field of textile and ready-made clothing industry, as well as food industries, and work is underway to open a project in this field soon. In addition to integrating with the SCZONE’s ports and benefiting from free and international trade agreements that achieve full access to about two billion consumers around the world. This project reflects the success of the ongoing partnership with the private sector and represents a direct translation of the promotional efforts SCZONE exerted during the past two years, which aimed to attract investments from major international companies in the sectors targeted for localization according to SCZONE’s strategy. We affirm our pride in laying the foundation stone for the third project in the Qantara West zone within less than 4 months. SCZONE is working to create an integrated community within the Qantara West zone in cooperation with Egyptian official institutions, to provide various means of life, including commercial centers, bank branches, and other requirements for business success in the zone.” SCZONE Chairman declared
