With investments of $15 million ,SCZONE’s chairman signs a contract with the Chinese company “GS Global Sourcing” for a ready-made garments project in Qantara West Industrial Zone

Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), signed a contract with GS Global Sourcing Co., Ltd, a Chinese company specialized in ready-made garments manufacturing. The project will be established in the Qantara West Industrial Zone on a land plot of 27,000 square meters, with investments totaling USD 15 million (approximately EGP 751.5 million), fully self-financed. The project is expected to create around 2,000 direct job opportunities and produce over 12 million ready-made garment units annually, with 100% of production allocated for export. The contract was signed by Mr. Luo Ju, the company’s legal representative and Board Member, in the presence of several officials from SCZONE.

“Qantara West Industrial Zone is one of the most successful models in attracting specialized investments, particularly in the textiles and ready-made garments sector. It has become a leading and integrated hub in this field due to its capabilities and proximity to the Canal governorates (Port Said, Ismailia, and Suez), making it suitable for labor-intensive projects. Its strategic location between the SCZONE’s ports on both the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea further enhances its appeal.” Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of SCZONE, declared.

“The new GS Global Sourcing project extends the growing confidence of international investors in SCZONE and reflects its ability to attract companies with global supply chains serving top-tier international brands. Following the signing of this contract, the total contracted investments in Qantara West Industrial Zone have risen to USD 579.5 million, providing over 27,300 direct job opportunities through 19 projects. This further reinforces Qantara West Industrial Zone’s contribution to SCZONE’s strategy of industrial integration and positioning as a global export-oriented manufacturing platform.” Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of SCZONE, added.

It is worth mentioning that GS Global Sourcing Co., Ltd was established in 2017 and is part of a large industrial group with over 25 years of experience. In 2022, the group recorded sales exceeding $600 million. The company produces approximately 100 million units annually of various ready-made garments for several global brands and maintains a manufacturing presence in Egypt, China, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Kenya, and other countries.
