The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) witnessed today the groundbreaking ceremony of the Xin Min Glass factory in “Sokhna 360”, the integrated industrial city developed by El Sewedy Industrial Development within the Sokhna Industrial Zone. The ceremony was attended by Major General Tarek El Shazly, Governor of Suez; Capt. Ahmed Gamal, SCZONE Vice Chairman for the Southern Area; Mr Mostafa Sheikhon, SCZONE Vice Chairman for Investment and Promotion Affairs; and representatives of the industrial developer and the Chinese company.

The project spans 163,000 m² and includes total investments exceeding USD 70 million across three phases. The first phase alone will involve investments of more than USD 30 million. The factory will produce glass tableware, borosilicate products, and kitchenware, with an annual capacity of over 516 million pieces, and is expected to generate more than 3,000 job opportunities.

Notably, the project contract was signed just a few weeks ago, with the first phase scheduled to commence operations in July 2026. This project represents a strategic value-added industrial investment, reinforcing SCZONE’s position as a leading destination for specialized industrial projects in the region
