Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), received at the Administrative Capital HQ, a Chinese delegation of the Jiangsu Federation of Industry and Commerce (JSFIC), headed by Mr. Liu Jun, JSFIC Vice Chairman, and the presence of some of the executive leaders of the Federation along with representatives of major companies operating in the energy, building and construction sectors, and engineering industries, of the JSFIC members, and the meeting was also attended by Dr. Mohamed Abdel Gawad, SCZONE Vice Chairman for Investment and Promotion Affairs. The meeting came to discuss aspects of cooperation and inform the delegation of the investment opportunities available in the economic zone in the targeted sectors to attract more companies in the Chinese province, one of the largest Chinese provinces economically, to invest in SCZONE
“SCZONE has achieved many success stories with Chinese companies, which currently count more than 200 companies in various sectors, including some projects with investments exceeding $1.067 billion, which SCZONE successfully attracted recently during a promotional tour to China. There are also many investment opportunities available in SCZONE in the 21 sectors whether industrial or logistical. SCZONE enjoys competitive advantages, most notably the unique strategic location that allows access to global markets, especially in light of free and international trade agreements, and the availability of trained labor and various energy sources for a competitive fee. We can build on the past successes of Chinese investments in SCZONE, especially in light of the strategic partnership between Egypt and China, strengthened by Egypt’s accession to the BRICS.” SCZONE Chairman declared
The Jiangsu Federation of Industry and Commerce (JSFIC), or Jiangsu General Chamber of Commerce (JSGCC), is a non-governmental body first established by the industrial and commercial community of the province in 1954, as the Jiangsu Chamber of Commerce. It includes industry and trade associations in more than 1,287 small towns and villages, about 96 districts (city and district) and 13 municipalities in the province. It also includes 4,277 business associations throughout Jiangsu Province, and 348,000 members (enterprises, groups and individuals), of which 293,000 represent enterprise members.
