Ain Sokhna Port – Liquid Bulk Berths
Dry Bulk & General Cargo
Three (3) berths, capacity of Twenty (20) million tons per annum.
The dry bulk berths are located at the Eastern side of the port basin 1. While one berth is dedicated for raw sugar bulk imports, the other is used for coal and iron ore bulk imports. The main equipment for the general cargo and dry bulk berths at the Eastern side of port basin 1 are four (4) Mobile Harbor Cranes.
Sugar
The sugar terminal belongs to a nearby sugar refinery, which is operated by the United Sugar Company of Egypt.
Iron and Coal Dry Bulk
The iron ore and coal terminal serves the import demand from Ezz Flat Steel Company located in Sokhna. The company produces steel products and is located outside the port area in a distance of approx. 8 km by road. To a lesser extent also clinker and slag imports are handled here. These commodities feed cement factories in the east of Sokhna.
