SCZONE’s Chairman Meets with 30 Egyptian Ambassadors Appointed to Head Egypt’s Diplomatic and Consular Missions Abroad

Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), received yesterday morning at SCZONE’s headquarters in Sokhna, a delegation of 30 Egyptian ambassadors appointed to head Egypt’s diplomatic and consular missions abroad. The visit aimed to introduce the ambassadors to SCZONE’s investment potentials and ongoing projects, and to enhance cooperation between SCZONE and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates in support of Egypt’s efforts to promote investment globally. This visit is part of SCZONE’s plan to strengthen its communication with Egyptian diplomatic entities and enable Egypt’s representatives abroad to promote SCZONE’s industrial and logistical capabilities.

“The ambassadors are envoys of the available investment opportunities in Egypt and a strategic pillar in the international promotion of SCZONE as a regional hub for industry and logistics, especially given SCZONE’s recent success in signing contracts with international investors and capitalizing on its strategic location and incentives. Egyptian diplomacy is a key partner in the international promotion of SCZONE’s potential, noting that despite global geopolitical and economic challenges, SCZONE has succeeded in reinforcing its position as a safe and promising investment destination.” Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of SCZONE, declared.

“SCZONE is one of Egypt’s flagship national projects for achieving sustainable development. It spans an area of 455 km² and comprises 4 integrated industrial zones and 6 seaports, located on both the Red Sea and the Mediterranean. SCZONE provides an integrated investment environment combining industrial activity with logistical services, through continuous infrastructure development, the provision of an attractive investment climate, and ensuring supply chain stability. SCZONE is working to localize strategic industries in fields such as renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, heavy industries, and complementary manufacturing, contributing to national economic growth, localizing production, and reducing the import bill.” Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of SCZONE, added.

Following the meeting, the delegation embarked on a tour of the Sokhna Integrated Industrial Zone, which included visits to Ecobat for Industrial Development for building materials manufacturing, the administrative headquarters of TEDA Egypt, Xinxing Ductile Iron Pipes Company, and Jushi Egypt for Fiberglass Industry. The ambassadors also visited Abdos FMCG Industries for chemical cosmetics manufacturing, Hayat Egypt for Hygiene Products, and Flex PET for polyester resin (PET) manufacturing. The tour concluded with an inspection of Sokhna Port and the ongoing development works, as the port is one of the most important under the SCZONE’s supervision. It is currently being upgraded to meet the needs of global trade and to support SCZONE’s objective of linking ports with industry and achieving logistical integration.
