Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), held extensive meetings with the European Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy, and with the general Director of the General Administration for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy. This is during his participation in the Egyptian economic delegation in Brussels to promote the available investment opportunities in Egypt, and to review the efforts made by Egypt and its various institutions in general, and SCZONE in particular, to create a favorable climate for investment, as well as to discuss the ongoing preparations for the investment conference scheduled to be held in Egypt this year with the participation of the European Union.
“SCZONE has many competitive advantages, including a strategic location o, and the integration between SCZONE’s six ports and the four industrial zones, which include about 21 industrial, logistical, and service sectors targeted to be localized. There are promising opportunities for investment in Egypt, especially in light of the major projects undertaken in the fields of clean energy and green transformation. We are working on transforming Egypt into a hub for energy production, as Egypt has renewable energy production resources from the sun and wind. SCZONE succeeded in exporting the first green ammonia shipment in the world which confirms that SCZONE is proceeding with its ambitious plan to produce green hydrogen and supply ships with it. There are various opportunities for European companies and agencies to invest in the green fuel industry and its feeding industries, such as solar panels, electrolyzers, etc., there is also a golden opportunity for cooperation in this vital field, especially in light of the European transformation for using renewable energy to confront the negative effects of climate change.” Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of SCZONE declared.
He also participated in a workshop at the headquarters of the European Commission, with the participation of the directors of various departments and senior officials concerned with relations with Egypt.
”SCZONE seeks to enhance cooperation with European companies and institutions to expand the scope of work with European investments in the coming period. SCZONE carried out huge projects to prepare infrastructure and facilities with a world-class standard in its ports and industrial zones. This comes in coinciding with the facilities provided by Egypt to foreign companies and investors, to pave the way for a competitive investment climate.” Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of SCZONE added.
