SCZONE signs an agreement to establish a vocational training center in cooperation with the Chinese Government

The General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) signed a contract to establish a vocational training center in cooperation with the Chinese government represented by the General Authority for International Economic Cooperation at the Chinese Ministry of Commerce. The agreement was signed by Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, SCZONE Chairman, and Mr. Zhao Liuqing, representing the Chinese side. Under the signing, preliminary designs and construction drawings will be finalized in preparation for the start of construction. The planned training center covers an area of 40,000 square meters, and the cost of establishing the center is about 128 million Chinese yuan as a grant provided by the Chinese government under a cooperation agreement signed between the two countries at an earlier stage.

“SCZONE pays great attention to qualifying the human capital and refining its skills, as a major pillar of its strategy. SCZONE has made great strides in this field by establishing several technical education academies and vocational training centers for workers in various industrial sectors in cooperation with success partners. The Chinese training complex consists of a training center equipped with the latest technology laboratories for various industries, most notably the energy, automotive, robotics, electronics, and communication technology industries, as well as language education. The center is also characterized by the presence of an exercise simulation with an interactive system between the trainee and the trainer. It also contains a residential complex for trainees and sports and recreational facilities that aim to train and qualify workers, enhance their skills, and prepare them for the labor market.” SCZONE Chairman stated

It is worth noting that SCZONE has established centers and academies for technical education in cooperation with success partners, most notably the El Sewedy Academy project and Banque Misr, the foundation stone for which was laid last year for EGP 45 Mn. As well as the Egyptian-German Academy for Technical Training by the alliance between Siemens International and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development with investments worth 22.5 million euros, noting that there are 5,500 Egyptian youth between engineers and technicians for whom the Academy will provide training over the next 4 years until 2025. SCZONE also plans to establish a new vocational training center in East Port Said soon.
