The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), received the first batch of Mercedes cars from various models within the Mercedes-Benz Logistics Center in the Industrial Zone in Sokhna, through the trial operation of the logistic park, which will witness actual operation by 2023.
It is one of the logistic parks that SCZONE is keen on having to facilitate transportation, distribution, and storage of cars from the port to the industrial zone, in preparation for offering these cars in the local and the regional market. The area of the Mercedes logistics park is about 20,000 square meters, and its storage capacity reaches 750 cars,This batch contains 69 Mercedes cars.
The logistic park works on warehousing and stock management of imported cars, maintenance services, and spare parts. This comes within the framework of strengthening cooperation between SCZONE and major international companies, as well as meeting the needs of the local market for luxury Mercedes cars.
“The partnership with Mercedes-Benz Egypt and its presence within SCZONE is an important step to support the auto industry in SCZONE. This project went through many negotiations until SCZONE succeeded in having a logistic park for Mercedes-Benz in the industrial zone in Sokhna. The center includes a storage yard for cars, another for auto parts, and a maintenance workshop.” Waleid Gamal Eldein, chairman of SCZONE declared.
