Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), received a high-level delegation from the Shandong Ports Group (SPG) and the Chinese Port of Qingdao, at the Authority’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. The delegation included Mr. Su Jianguang, Chairman of the SPG Group and the Port of Qingdao, and the directors of the group’s foreign trade, investment, and logistics companies. The meeting came within the framework of strengthening joint cooperation between SCZONE and the SPG Group in the field of ports, logistics, and supporting supply chains.
” SCZONE has 6 seaports on the Red Sea and the Mediterranean seas, they represent the integration with the industrial zones affiliated with SCZONE and also represent the link between Asia and Europe in addition to being A gateway to Africa. SCZONE has made great strides in developing its ports and supporting them with world-class infrastructure and facilities. SCZONE invested about $3 billion for this purpose. Hence, SCZONE cooperates with major global port operators to provide various activities and logistical services using the latest technologies, as well as ship bunkering services with fossil fuel and green fuels.” Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of SCZONE declared.
” We aspire to develop cooperation and partnership with the Shandong Ports Group and the Port of Qingdao, as the cooperation could include the fields of supply chains, sea shipping, warehousing, and logistics services, as well as vocational training and automating work within ports with smart technologies. SCZONE is keen to enhance cooperation with the Chinese side, especially in light of the prosperity of Egyptian-Chinese relations at the current stage.” Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of SCZONE added

There is a great potential for the SPG Group to pump investments into SCZONE to support supply chain logistics services and other activities of common interest, as the Shandong Group has long experience in port management and related work, which supervises the operation of about 320 berths in various ports.” Mr. Su Jianguang, Chairman of the SPG Group said
It is worth noting that SCZONE launched promotional tours to China that resulted in attracting various investments in the targeted sectors according to SCZONE’s strategy, which includes expansions of the Chinese industrial developer “TEDA-Egypt” within SCZONE’s integrated Sokhna zone, in addition to investments in the West Qantara industrial zone in the ready-made clothing, fabrics and textile sectors.
