SCZONE explores new means of cooperation with FICCI -India

Eng. Yehia Zaki chairman of SCZONE received Mr. Ashish Gupta deputy of the indian ambassador for Investment and Promotion Affairs, Mr. Nahas Ali, Commercial Attaché of the Embassy, and several members of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) on the sidelines of the meetings of the Egyptian-Indian Business Council currently being held in Cairo; To discuss means of cooperation and investment opportunities for Indian companies in SCZONE.

This meeting comes within the framework of SCZONE’s plan and vision to open up to global markets, especially Asian ones that have trade relations with the Egyptian market. SCZONE aims to attract Indian investments specifically in the areas of programming, software solutions, textiles, chemicals, and other sectors targeted within its vision for “2020/2025”.

“we are pleased to receive the members of the Federation of Indian Chambers, which includes representatives of major Indian companies operating in various industrial sectors and seeking the availability of exporting their products to African markets. SCZONE is a strategic gate for regional markets due to its location, investment incentives, and trade agreements that facilitate easy access to foreign markets. SCZONE also has major 6 affiliated ports overlooking the Red and the Mediterranean Sea linked with an integrated industrial zones that facilitate import and export operations.” Eng. Yehia Zaki declared.

“we are looking for several Indian investments in the green hydrogen sector soon, as we exerted a great effort to become the main regional hub in this sector. We are also ready to seek investment opportunities in the textiles, chemicals, programming, information technology, and operating systems sectors, as well as the industries of auto engine parts, devices, and medical supplies.” Zaki added.

On the other side, The representatives of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry expressed their happiness with this meeting and their readiness to take part in various investments into SCZONE to benefit from the investment incentives as well as the access to African markets. They also expressed their appreciation for the availability of promising opportunities for economic cooperation between Egypt and India, which helps in the further transformation towards a new era for the Egyptian-Indian partnership.

It is worth noting that, SCZONE seeks to cooperate with the Indian side in the field of green hydrogen, in which it has made remarkable progress by signing several MOUs which are expected to enter into binding contracts in coinciding with COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh, next November.
