Hong Kong witnessed the last stop point of The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) delegation’s extensive meetings with the major international companies operating in clean energy, digital solutions, the automotive industry, and other various fields. Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien and his accompanying delegation held meetings with official entities in Hong Kong. The meetings were held in the presence of Ambassador Baher Sheweikhi, Consul General of Egypt in Hong Kong.
The delegation met with officials of the InvestHK, members of the Environmental Business Council, and various businessmen and companies operating in the field of clean energy, especially in light of Egypt’s adoption of distinctive incentives for the green economy, as well as the readiness of SCZONE through its strategic location that allows it to be a regional hub for this industry with its proximity to resources sites. The meeting includes discussions about the major global partnerships signed by SCZONE in this regard, amounting to 23 memorandums of understanding, including 9 framework agreements for green fuel production and green bunkering.
The delegation also met with representatives of One Asia Company, one of the Legan Group companies specializing in the manufacturing of data centers and related digital services.
“Data centers are one of the most important targeted sectors to be located within SCZONE, as the Technology Valley “east of Ismailia” is qualified to receive projects in this field.”Mr, Waleid Gamal Eldien, chairman of SCZONE stated.
In the same context, the delegation met with representatives of Cyberport, which is a governmental pioneer company in the digital technology industry in Hong Kong. The company includes 1500 global technology companies such as IBM, Microsoft, and Lenovo, and the company aims to promote innovation and emerging companies to work on providing technical, financial, and investment support programs. The delegation also met representatives of the Swire Limited Group, which is considered one of the most important international companies specializing in maritime transport.
