SCZONE delegation meets Indian major infrastructure, construction, and electrical appliances companies

The Indian City, Mumbai witnessed fruitful meetings between the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) delegation and the accompanying delegation of industrial developers, and Indian major companies in diversified sectors as infrastructure , constructions, home appliances, and renewable energy.

The SCZONE delegation met Mr. Amit Kumar, Group Head- Corporate Affairs of the Asian Paints Ltd., which is specialized in the field of the paints industry. The company owns one of the largest paint companies in Cairo for the manufacture of additives and their inputs in the production of paints.

The company has shown interest in setting up projects to produce and manufacture paint materials within SCZONE to export its products to African markets, as well as its interest in being present in East Port Said to set up an automotive paint factory, one of the components of the EPAZ Automotive industry complex in East Port Said, to serve international auto manufacturers within the Zone.

Chairman of SCZONE also met Mr. Vishal Lohia the Executive Director of Indo Rama Synthetics Limited a textile and polyester company, as it is a lead company in the Indian and American markets in this sector, and it is the largest specialized manufacturer of polyester in India. The company is producing polyester products that include fibers Polyester staples (PSF), Partially Oriented Yarn (POY), Drawn Yarn (DTY), Fully Drawn Yarn (FDY), and Polyester Flakes. During the meeting, the Executive Director of the company mentioned his desire to expand company’s activity outside India and to set up a project within SCZONE for easy access to American and foreign countries using SCZONE’s ports. During the meeting, the company demonstrated technical cooperation with various technology pioneers in Japan, Germany, and the United States of America, to manufacture high-quality products to be exported abroad, as the Egyptian market is a promising destination for such industries.

The delegation also met Mr. Rahul Murgai, Global Senior Vice President of Havells India Limited, the famous brand LLOYDS working in multinational electrical equipment and home appliances and power distribution equipment including industrial and domestic circuit protection devices, cables and wires, motors, fans, air conditioners, and heaters. Electric water, household and commercial lamps, and the company products are available in more than 60 countries. In this context, the two sides discussed joint cooperation in the Egyptian markets, as the company targets the local and regional markets in its project and exporting abroad from SCZONE, as the global trend in the future in the manufacture of energy-saving devices for daily life.

After the meeting, the developers of SCZONE, Orascom for Industrial parks, and El Sewedy for Industrial Development, and the company’s representatives, discussed the incentives and available investment opportunities within the industrial zone, the basic infrastructure and facilities, as the land equipped to receive such projects immediately, as well as the proximity of the industrial zone to Sokhna port overlooking the Red Sea, closest to the Gulf and Asian markets in addition to the European and American markets.

SCZONR delegation held the talks with Mr. S V Desai, Sr. Executive Vice President of Larsen & Toubro Company, the largest international company in the field of construction, Civil infrastructure, utilities, industrial developer, and the manufacture of electrical transformers. The Chairman of SCZONE discussed cooperation with the company, as it showed interest in establishing Projects within SCZONE in Utility corridor, water desalination plant, and electrical transformers to serve green fuel projects in the future, within the Zone, as well as working with the industrial developers of SCZONE in industrial development and construction fields.
