Mr. Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), witnessed the signing of four commercial contracts aimed at exporting the products of the “Shen Sheng” factory of ductile pipes to major international projects in Kuwait, Iraq, Tunisia and Jordan, with a total value of these contracts amounting to $ 47 million, in addition to the signing of a partnership and cooperation agreement in technical and marketing studies between “Xinxing” and a Chinese company for environmental services. The signing ceremony was attended by a group of SCZONE executive leaders, officials of the industrial developer TEDA Egypt Investment Company, and officials of Xinxing in China and Egypt.
The agreements cover ductile iron pipe shipments to infrastructure projects in Kuwait, Iraq, Tunisia, and Jordan. They follow a separate $39 million contract signed a day earlier for a project in Saudi Arabia, bringing Xinxing’s total confirmed exports from the site to $86 million.
Mr. Yu Ruibin, Deputy GM of Xinxing Company, signed the first contract. Mr. Jamal Adeeb, GM of the Kuwaiti Company “Quality Technical Supplies Co.W.L.L.L”, for one of the company’s projects in Kuwait – “PAHW Project”, with a value of $ 8.5 million, and a production volume of 7800 tons.
The second contract was signed by Mr. Yu Ruibin, Deputy GM of Xinxing Company. and Mr. Haider Hammoud, General Manager of the Iraqi company Wealth and Prosperity International F.Z.C., for a water plant project in the Iraqi city of Baghdad – with a contract value of $ 20 million.
The third contract was signed by Mr. Yu Ruibin, Deputy GM of Xinxing Company.
Mr. Mohamed Nabil Khawaja, General Manager of the Tunisian company Lemex International AG, for the SONEDE Project, worth $ 6.5 million, and a production volume of up to 6,000 tons of ductile pipes.
The fourth contract was signed by Mr. Yu Ruibin, Deputy GM of Xinxing Company.
Mr. Khaldoun Kilani, GM of the Jordanian company “Victoria Trading & Projects LLC”, for one of the company’s projects in Bani Kenana, Irbid, Jordan, with a value of $ 12 million, and a production volume of 1100 tons.
As for the fifth signing, it includes a strategic cooperation agreement in technical and marketing studies between Xinxing, represented by Mr. Yu Ruibin, Deputy GM of the company, and Veolia, a Chinese company for environmental services, represented by Mr. Wei Weiqiang, Deputy GM of the company.
“SCZONE pays increasing attention to projects that aim to localize industry and transfer technology, due to its significant impact on supporting the development of Egyptian industry and boosting exports.” SCZONE Chairman declared
He pointed out the direct and indirect returns of these projects, represented in creating job opportunities for youth, reducing the import bill, and serving national projects, in addition to enhancing confidence in products manufactured in Egypt and increasing their global competitiveness.
It is worth noting that the Prime Minister witnessed earlier this week in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, the signing of 3 contracts in favor of the Chinese company “Xinxing” worth EGP 32.5 billion, aimed at supplying various national projects in the Egypt, with all ductile iron pipe products of different diameters and specifications, which represents an unprecedented support for the state’s vision to localize industry and replace imports, to save hard currency, and to enhance the growth of the Egyptian economy, especially in light of the current geopolitical challenges.
