SCZONE Chairman Receives Chinese Delegation Representing the China National Garment Association

Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), received this morning at SCZONE’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, a high-level Chinese business delegation headed by Mr. Li Xin, Vice President of the China National Garment Association (CNGA). The delegation included 15 representatives from sub-associations and major garment and textile companies across several Chinese provinces and cities, including Qingdao (Shandong Province), Ningbo and Yiwu (Zhejiang Province), Xiamen (Fujian Province), and Shanghai. This visit comes within the framework of fruitful cooperation between the Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS) and SCZONE, aimed at attracting foreign direct investment. The meeting was held in the presence of several senior SCZONE officials.

SCZONE offers a highly competitive investment environment within its industrial zones, with a wide range of advantages for foreign investors. The textile sector is one of our strategic priorities, as it plays a vital role in achieving industrial integration and advancing local manufacturing, from spinning and weaving to the production of finished products. Our recent promotional tour in China demonstrated the growing confidence of Chinese partners in SCZONE’s investment climate, and we look forward to establishing more promising industrial partnerships in the near future.” Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of SCZONE, declared.

“A dedicated land plot has been allocated in the West Qantara Industrial Zone to support the textile sector, which now hosts 21 Chinese projects in spinning and weaving. This strengthens West Qantara Industrial Zone’s position as a primary industrial hub for textile activities within SCZONE. The integrated Sokhna Industrial Zone is hosting 18 companies operating in the same sector, underscoring the attractiveness of SCZONE for garment and textile manufacturers, thanks to its advanced infrastructure, ready industrial facilities, investment incentives, and competitive pricing for energy and skilled labor.” Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of SCZONE, added.

“We are pleased to visit SCZONE and learn more about its investment landscape. Said. Our delegation is here to explore the available opportunities, incentives, and suitable industrial zones for textile and garment manufacturing. SCZONE enjoys strong trust and recognition among Chinese investors, particularly for its efficient one-stop-shop services. We are witnessing a growing trend among Chinese textile and garment companies to expand their operations into Egypt in the near future.” Mr. Li Xin, Vice President of the China National Garment Association (CNGA), Said.

It is worth noting that this visit builds on the outcomes of SCZONE’s successful promotional tour to China.
