SCZONE Chairman participates in the Jiangsu–Egypt Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference

Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), participated in the Jiangsu–Egypt Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference in Cairo, which aimed to advance trade and investment ties between Jiangsu-based companies and Egypt, particularly within SCZONE, and to strengthen cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative and Egypt Vision 2030.

During his remarks, Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien affirmed that SCZONE has attracted USD 11.6 billion in investments over the past three and a half years, 50% of which are Chinese, reflecting the strength of bilateral economic cooperation. He highlighted SCZONE’s integrated ports and industrial zones, as well as its world-class infrastructure and competitive incentives, which continue to draw global investors.

Mr. Si Yong, Director-General of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Commerce, reaffirmed his support for expanding cooperation with SCZONE and highlighted Jiangsu’s readiness to encourage more of its companies to explore investment opportunities within SCZONE. The conference also brought together representatives from the Chinese Embassy, Egyptian business associations, and Jiangsu’s trade and economic organizations, emphasizing SCZONE’s commitment to strengthening global partnerships and promoting industrial localization.
