SCZONE Chairman meets with a high-level delegation from A.P. Moller Maersk to discuss enhancing cooperation

Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), held a high-level meeting Today at SCZONE’s HQ in the New Administrative Capital with a high-level delegation from “A.P. Moller Maersk” integrated transport and logistics company, headed by Mrs. Camilla Jain Holtse, Vice President and Head of Public Policy & Regulatory Affairs. The meeting was attended by some of SCZONE’s executive leaders.

“SCZONE aspires to deepen cooperation with Maersk. We are open to global partnerships in logistics activities, green fuel production and trading, and ship bunkering. Maersk has adopted carbon-reduction policies as a global leader in green shipping. The company launched the first green-fueled ship, which SCZONE celebrated by bunkering for the first time at SCZONE’s East Port Said Port in 2023. Cooperation with Maersk is not limited to maritime and shipping activities, but can extend to logistics zones and green fuel. The integration between the SCZONE’s ports, industrial and logistics zones, and its strategic location represents the perfect solution to provide unparalleled costs for green fuel and ship bunkering. The diversity of industrial activities within the SCZONE represents an additional opportunity for the company to enhance the integration of global supply chains.” SCZONE Chairman declared

For their part, Maersk officials praised their partnership with SCZONE, expressing their appreciation for SCZONE’s management’s professionalism and transparency, especially in light of the current challenges facing global trade. They also emphasized that cooperation with SCZONE contributes to overcoming all obstacles and propelling the company’s business toward more advanced horizons.
