SCZONE Chairman meets Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce to expand investment opportunities

Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dein, Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), received Mr. Ling Ji, Vice Minister of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, and his high-level delegation at SCZONE’s headquarters in the New Capital. The meeting was held as part of the coordination mechanism between SCZONE and the TEDA Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone to explore ways to enhance economic and investment cooperation.

Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dein highlighted the successful Egyptian–Chinese partnership through the “TEDA” in Sokhna Industrial Zone, emphasizing SCZONE’s focus on expanding investments in automotive manufacturing, clean energy, pharmaceuticals, and logistics, creating new opportunities for joint industrial projects.

Mr. Ling Ji praised the achievements of the “TEDA” Zone and the ongoing support from SCZONE and the Egyptian government, reaffirming China’s commitment to deepen cooperation and investment in SCZONE.

The meeting concluded with the initialing of a Memorandum of Understanding between SCZONE and the Ministry of Commerce of China to strengthen collaboration, facilitate infrastructure and land allocation, and promote industrial integration and supply chains.
