SCZONE chairman & Japanese ambassador discuss the joint cooperation and a promoting visit to Tokyo

Mr. Waleid Gamal El Dien, chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), received Mr. Oka Hiroshi, Ambassador of Japan to Cairo, accompanied delegation with him, representatives from Toyota Tsusho Company, and the Suez Canal Company for car handling, which is specialized in operating the Ro-Ro berth in East Port Said.

The meeting started with an
orientation about the upcoming promoting visit in the Japanese capital, Tokyo, to promote investment opportunities in SCZONE for the Japanese companies and demonstrate the existing Japanese projects in Sokhna and East Port Said.

The Japanese embassy is organizing with the UNIDO office in Tokyo and the Japanese Center for Cooperation in the Middle East (JCCME), meetings for the SCZONE delegation and Japanese companies interested in investing within SCZONE. The remarkable performance of SCZONE in localizing various industrial and services sectors and the promotional activity during the last period helped the International business community in getting to know SCZONE and its capabilities.

“I’m really happy because of the upcoming visit, due to SCZONE’s capabilities, geographical location, and ease of accessibility to foreign markets, especially from Asia to Africa and vice versa, in addition to its integrated industrial zones and 6 ports connected to the Red Sea and the Mediterranean.” The Japanese ambassador stated.

The meeting also included discussions about conducting joint working sessions with Tokyo investors and representatives from several companies operating in the industries that SCZONE aims to localize, during the promotional visit. It is scheduled that the chairman of SCZONE will visit Tokyo as part of his promotional tours to demonstrate investment opportunities within SCZONE and the new bundle of incentives.
