Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), and Major General Pilot / Akram Galal, Governor of Ismailia, witnessed the Groundbreaking ceremony for the first stage of the Chinese Di Seta company for accessories and ready-made clothing, in the Qantara west zone. The project’s first phase investment cost is $40 million, and it is located on a total area of the two phases spanning 83 thousand square meters, and the project provides 1,200 direct job opportunities, and it is planned to start the project during the month of September of this year. The ceremony was attended by the: Mr. Jason Yao, V.P. of Di Seta, and a member of the House of Representatives for the Qantara region, in addition to a number of executive leaders of SCZONE and Ismailia Governorate.
“SCZONE is moving steadily towards attracting investment in the targeted industrial sectors. We are keen on the diversity of investments to include all the industrial areas of the economic zone. As SCZONE has 4 industrial zones in (Sokhna, East Port Said, Qantara West, and East Ismailia); where each of them specializes in a number of industrial sectors that are targeted to localize them in each zone, and these industries and activities differ depending on the geographical location and the availability of specific raw materials that serve this industry. We emphasize SCZONE success in attracting 15 projects so far for the Qantara west industrial zone over a total area of approximately one million and 31 thousand square meters, with investments of up to 490 million dollars, and these projects combined contribute to providing what exceeds 20 thousand direct job opportunities.” SCZONE Chairman declared
“The Di Seta project, which was laid the foundation stone today in the Qantara West Industrial zone in the textile and clothing sector, represents a new chapter for the successful partnership between SCZONE and Chinese investments in this promising zone, and reflects the success of SCZONE efforts over the past 30 months, whether in promotional tours that aim to attract various investments within SCZONE, or in the field of investment in infrastructure and facilities with international specifications. In addition to SCZONE efforts to digitize the services provided to investors, which have contributed widely to creating the investment climate within the Zone. SCZONE aims to transform the Qantara west into an industrial center of the textile and clothing industries in addition to other targeted sectors; This is to meet the needs of the local market and the availability of products of global quality, as well as to enhance Egyptian exports to international markets within the framework of the Egyptian state’s plan for this regard.” Added H.E.
