Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation and Governor of Egypt at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and Mr. Mark Bowman, EBRD’s Vice President for Policy and Partnerships, announced the official launch of some digital One-Stop-Shop services that support improving business efficiency, transparency and governance, which in turn is reflected in strengthening SCZONE’s leadership as a logistics hub and a global destination for investment. This came during an official event SCZONE held at its headquarters in the Administrative Capital in the presence of several executive leaders of SCZONE, the Ministry of International Cooperation and the EBRD.
This comes within the framework of SCZONE’s efforts to enable all its economic tools, and in the implementation of one of the pillars of its strategic vision, which is the digital transformation and sustainable economy. The main features of the e-services platform for investors include: a centralized customer relationship management (CRM) system that ensures real-time project tracking and supports future investment opportunities, a smart process management system to automate service applications, supported by key performance indicators, and a document management system (DMS), a secure central archive for processing investment-related documents. Efficient storage and retrieval, Business Intelligence (BI) reports that include dedicated dashboards to support data-driven decision-making, the Investor Portal, a modern and easy-to-use workspace where investors can interact directly with support teams in SCZONE, submit proposals, track orders and access key resources around the clock, and the Integration Portal, a powerful system that enables seamless integration with internal and external databases to provide a coherent user experience. In addition to providing secure and efficient channels for online payment. Over the next two years, SCZONE will digitize and streamline 80 key services, ensuring that existing and potential investors benefit from seamless interactions, reduced processing times, and a more user-centric experience.
“SCZONE is working according to a comprehensive strategy for digital transformation that adopts modern concepts and tools and enhances the competitiveness of the zone globally, as it officially launched today an integrated platform for investor services aimed at providing innovative digital solutions that contribute to improving and simplifying the efficiency of administrative, service and financial processes, as well as automating procedures, managing documents, developing an electronic portal for investors, in addition to reports for decision-makers. We inaugurated the SCZONE Logistics Center in honor of the Prime Minister, and this center supports the automation of customs and logistical procedures. These technology platforms are integrated with the Industrial Networking Platform (E-Tabadul), which aims to connect manufacturers in Egypt inside and outside SCZONE to support the localization of industry and the integration of supply chains, and this transformation reflects the region’s firm commitment to leading digital excellence and enabling a competitive and business-friendly environment in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.” SCZONE Chairman declared
“The launch of digital one-stop services for SCZONE investors is an important step towards strengthening its position as a global logistics and investment hub. This step contributes to raising the efficiency of services provided to investors and enhances the competitiveness of the investment climate and business environment in Egypt, especially in light of the importance of digital transformation as one of the main factors for achieving economic development. The launch of these services comes as part of the second phase of the Digital Transformation Program, which is being implemented in cooperation with the EBRD within the framework of the Country Strategy 2022-2027. The program is one of the main pillars of cooperation with the Bank in support of Egypt’s efforts to empower the private sector, by providing soft financing packages and investments to the private sector, in addition to technical support and consultations. We appreciate the efforts of the Suez Canal Economic Zone to attract and encourage investment.” Dr. Rania Al-Mashat said
Mr. Bowman expressed his pride in cooperating with the Suez Canal Economic Zone as one of the prominent economic institutions locally and regionally, concerned with attracting investment and supporting the economy and industry, stressing the European Bank’s interest as a donor institution in supporting digital transformation efforts and sustainable solutions, and invited all potential investors, partners and stakeholders to explore the new platform, and experience a new era of investor-focused services.
