“We aspire for the 2nd phase of cooperation, especially after the completion of the first phase and the achievement of its objectives. We also aspire to work on automating all services to simplify procedures and start work on re-engineering and full digitization in ports as well.” Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone, declared.

“I appreciate the progress that is being achieved through cooperation with EBRD and SCZONE, where the first phase witnessed the re-engineering and development of the priority services bundle. It paved the way for re-engineering and full digitizing for investor services, which supports moving forward towards the requirements of the second phase of cooperation and preparing for signing the final contracts related to the 2nd phase.” Mr. Khaled Hamza, Director Head of Egypt at “EBRD” stated.

“I’m happy to meet Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien and SCZONE team that cooperates with EBRD. I also appreciate the fruitful cooperation that took place over the past years. We have the full readiness for cooperation in the second phase and the preparation of a clear and detailed action plan. We will work on full digitization for all services and start re-engineering and supporting services for ports. The contracts for the second phase are ready to be signed by the end of the month in the presence of the EBRD’s vice president.” Ms. Bojana Reiner said

It is worth noting that cooperation between SCZONE and EBRD included several files. The most important of which is the one-stop service, the digitization of all investor services, and work on the full digitization of ports’ services, in addition to the MOU that was signed last November between the El Sewedy Technical Academy (STA) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The MOU aims to provide the necessary support to raise the efficiency of technical labor in green hydrogen projects and other fields such as logistics, tourism services, and steel within the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE).
