Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), and Dr. Amany Eid, CEO of “Ebda” for Project Development, signed a cooperation protocol to support investment and localization of industry, in the presence of several executive leaders of both sides.
Under the protocol, SCZONE, as the economic development arm of Egypt, and “Ebda” company for project Development, which represents an executive arm of the National Initiative for Industrial Development “Ebda”, coordinate to support the investment environment in SCZONE, promote its incentives, activate an integrated framework to find solutions for investors and facilitate the use of those incentives, as well as benefit from “Ebda” Technical Schools to qualify human cadres, and provide trained technical labor. Both entities also work jointly to integrate supply chains through SCZONE’s existing projects and the projects in which “Ebda” contributes, in addition to cooperating to market SCZONE and its projects and cooperating in providing the projects’ needs of raw materials and industrial needs for a competitive fee. Both sides also agreed to activate digital platforms to provide a database of industrial companies operating in Egypt, to achieve industrial networking, integration and improvement of doing business, as well as communicate with all initiatives carried out by Egyptian authorities and relevant civil society institutions to reach the protocol for the optimal executive way.
“We are keen on concerted efforts between SCZONE and various national and international institutions to support its vision of localizing industry in the targeted sectors, representing 21 sectors diverse between industrial and logistical. SCZONE pays great attention to qualifying its human cadres to improve the services provided to investors, in addition to strengthening partnerships in the technical labor training sector through the establishment of training centers and specialized technical academies in cooperation with success partners, to provide job opportunities in advanced technology sectors, especially the green energy sector. SCZONE also exerts many continuous promotional efforts to attract investments from various countries in targeted sectors for localization. We reinforce the inherent role of all Egyptian institutions in supporting these efforts to promote exports and transfer advanced industrial technologies, especially in industries of strategic importance to Egypt, such as the manufacture of EVs, medical APIs, green fuels and its feeding industries.” SCZONE Chairman stated
