The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) participates in the 2nd African Health Exhibition and Conference, AFRICA HEALTH ExCon 2023, which is organized by the Unified Procurement and Medical Supply Authority, where SCZONE reviews, through its pavilion at the exhibition, the efforts are made in the targeted medical sectors, including medical supplies and devices, active pharma ingredients and pharmaceutical. The pavilion will witness the participation of factories operating in the medical field within the scope of SCZONE.
“The participation in this exhibition comes within the promotional efforts undertaken by SCZONE to present the investment opportunities available in its target sectors, especially the medical field, as the African market in general and the Egyptian market, in particular, represent a promising opportunity for the growth for all investors in the medical sector. SCZONE is one of the most important platforms that can support investments in the medical field through investment incentives that allow benefitting from the Egyptian local market in addition to the foreign markets within the African continent.” Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, chairman of SCZONE, stated.
The SCZONE’s pavilion at the exhibition includes the Ateco Pharma factory which is located in the Sokhna industrial zone, and specializes in manufacturing of intravenous medical solutions and sterilization products Ateco Pharma is located on an area of 20,000 square meters at an investment cost of about one billion pounds. The IDI factory, which is located within the East Port Said Industrial Zone on an area of 20000 m 2, specialized in the manufacture of many pharmaceutical preparations, which include capsules, syrups, tablets, vials, creams, sachets & other pharmaceutical forms.
In March 2023, the SCZONE Board of Directors approved the establishment of a project for the manufacture and production of vaccines and drug serums, with local and foreign investments amounting to 150 million dollars. The establishment targets the pharmaceutical sector and the production of active pharma substances. The Council also approved the export of the products of this factory, including serums and vaccines, to the local market.
It should be noted that the 2nd African Health Exhibition and Conference, AFRICA HEALTH ExCon 2023, is being held with the participation of more than 90 countries, in addition to more than 1,200 speakers, 316 discussion sessions, and 36 workshops with the participation of international experts in the medical field.
