SCZONE targets localization of 21 sectors until 2025
Within the framework of introducing investment opportunities in the Suez Canal Economic Zone to members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Cairo, Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, SCZONE Chairman, participated this morning in a discussion session of the AmCham in Cairo, which was organized by the Transport and Logistics Committee of the Chamber.
During the session, Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien conducted a presentation on SCZONE showing the current potential, components, legislative readiness, infrastructure, and network of facilities that qualify it to attract more diverse investments, as well as the integration of industrial zones with affiliated seaports, which contributed to facilitating the movement of trade internally and externally.
“The integration between SCZONE’S affiliated seaports and industrial zones, investment incentives, and qualifying technical workers paved the way for green fuel projects. Many memoranda of understanding were signed, amounting to 23 memorandums of understanding, and recently 9 of them were converted to framework agreements to start these projects and implement them according to the targeted schedules” SCZONE Chairman announced.
Abir Leheta, Co-Chair, AmCham Transport and Logistics Committee declared: “The Suez Canal Economic Zone is characterized by a global geographical location, which made it a center for the production of green fuels in Egypt, which helped attract many industries and make it a destination to attract diversified investments.”
It is worth mentioning that the participation of the Chairman of SCZONE in this event comes immediately after his return from his visit to France as part of a door-knocking mission aimed at presenting investment opportunities in the SCZONE to French investors as part of introducing the potential of the economic zone to the international business community.
