SCZONE discusses upcoming cooperation with Abu Dhabi ports group

Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), met Ambassador Mariam Al-Kaabi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in Cairo, and Mr. Ahmed Al-Mutawa, Head of the International Sector of the Abu Dhabi Ports Group, to discuss prospects of cooperation in the industrial zones, logistical areas, and the ports, as the group looks forward to strengthening cooperation with SCZONE in light of its unique capabilities whether through its prime location or the readiness of the affiliated ports in the Sokhna integrated industrial zone and Port Said integrated industrial zone

SCZONE is executing mega development works in Sokhna ports, including the implementation of new berths that receive a variety of activities, multi-use terminals, Ro-Ro terminals, and liquid bulk terminals, as well as the works that are being carried out in Al- Arish port, the only seaport in North Sinai. SCZONE is also attracting dry bulk projects and cement storage silos. The development works also include Al-Adabiya, East port said port, West Port Said port and Al-Tur port.” Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien declared during his orientation about SCZONE.

The meeting also included discussions about SCZONE’s infrastructure, utilities, and investment incentives. They also discussed SCZONE’s vision to meet the needs of regional and local markets needs in some targeted sectors such as automobiles, green fuel, electric and food industries. The head of the international sector of Abu Dhabi Ports Group discussed means of bilateral cooperation between the two sides to work as an industrial developer and establish logistic areas as well as the possibility of operating berths inside ports during the upcoming period.
