SCZONE receives a delegation from the German Businesswomen Association (VDU)

Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dein, chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), received the delegation of the German Businesswomen Association -Verband deutscher Unternehmerinnen (VDU), at SCZONEā€™s headquarters in Sokhna, as part of their visit to Egypt from 20 to 24 February. The meeting was attended by Dr. Ibrahim Abdel-Khaleq, Vice chairman of SCZONE for Investment and Promotion Affairs, and Major General Alaa Abdel-Karim, Advisor to the chairman of SCZONE for Tax and Customs Affairs.

ā€¯ we are happy to have you in SCZONE headquarters in Sokhna to explore SCZONEā€™s activities closely. SCZONE plays a pivotal point in the path of trade due to its location and its 6 seaports on the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea, in addition to its industrial zones that integrate with the ports to make a distinctive point in contact with various global markets on the banks of the most important global shipping corridor, which is the Suez Canal. We also have some competitive advantages such as the availability of energy and low-cost labor. We are preparing to start the activity of ships bunkering during the next months.ā€¯ Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dein, chairman of SCZONE, declared.

ā€¯ SCZONE cooperates with several global entities to produce green fuel from green hydrogen, green ammonia, and e- methanol for export purposes and also use it in green bunkering by the first half of 2026. We exerting a great effort to localize the feeding and complementary industries for the manufacture of green fuel, which helps in reducing the cost and then the price of the final product, most of which will be used by the European market.ā€¯ Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dein, chairman of SCZONE, added.

On the other side, Mrs. Yasmin Arabbian Vogel, President of the German Businesswomen Association (VDU), expressed her happiness with the delegationā€™s presence in SCZONE to get acquainted with its capabilities closely. several members of the association also expressed interest in the volume of economic cooperation among SCZONE, Asian, and European countries, in addition to their great interest in labor training, the localization of the green fuel industry, and the strategy of localization of the automobile industry that SCZONE and Egypt are working on it in East Port Said Industrial Zone.

At the end of the visit, the delegation inspected the Sokhna industrial zone, as the tour included the Chinese Fan Yang factory specialized in the manufacture and coloring of textiles and polyester chips. They also visited Ain Sokhna port, which is witnessing undergoing development and expansion works to include 6 basins instead of two, in addition to all other development works that would raise the efficiency of the port’s performance.
