The Hungarian capital, Budapest witnessed today the meetings between officials from the Hungarian side and the Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone(SCZone) and the Executive director of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) from Egypt.
“I discussed the bilateral cooperation between SCZONE and the Hungarian side, which is focusing on the investment opportunities in the affiliated ports and industrial zones.” Eng. Yehia Zaki Chairman of SCZONE declared.
Eng. Yehia Zaki the chairman of SCZone began his visit in Hungary to introduce SCZone’s incentives for investment and the business climate it offers in comparison to its regional counterparts.
He presented the advantages that SCZone has in terms of facilitating business procedures, Tax, customs, which has the access to global markets.
He also demonstrated the contribution of local and African road networks established recently that will ease the trade of goods and movement for people.
The first meeting was held at the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade with Mr. Istvan Joo, Deputy Secretary and Government Commissioner for the Sustainability Summit in Budapest 2021.
The meeting concentrated on the incentives and facilities offered by SCZone For foreign investors.
Eng. Yehia Zaki confirmed that investment incentives are an essential pillar of SCZone’s strategy (2020-2025), as it works within the framework of the Egyptian country plan to facilitate business procedures and improve the investment climate for investors.
The facilitation is granted through (one-stop) shop that the procedures as licenses, registration, and permits starting and ending.
SCZONE Chairman also met Dr. Kristof Szabo, CEO of the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency “HEPA” to discuss the cooperation between the agency and the zone.
” SCZone includes 6 ports overlooking the Mediterranean sea and the red sea with 4 industrial zones which make it the main gateway to many global markets, and through its capabilities qualifying the investors to reach a larger number of consumers around the world, also SCZONE joined the (Egyptian export support program) which support the projects.” Zaki said
At the end of the meeting Eng. Yehia Zaki invited the Hungarian side to visit SCZone and see its existing projects, ports, and industrial zones on the ground.
