Following a successful two-day visit to New York, Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), arrived in Washington D.C. to continue his US promotional tour. Accompanied by the Egyptian Embassy and Commercial Representation Office, the Chairman held intensive meetings with major US economic entities to discuss potential cooperation in the pharmaceutical, energy, logistics, and automotive industries.

Merck: Discussions focused on localizing the manufacturing of vaccines and biological treatments to serve both local and global markets.

McLarty Associates Roundtable: Attended by representatives from SpaceX, Lucid Motors, Eurasia Group, Continental Strategy, and Middle East Institute, the meeting explored expansion opportunities through SCZONE.

DLA Piper Roundtable: A presentation was given on SCZONE’s strategic vision, highlighting investment incentives and legal frameworks.

US Chamber of Commerce roundtable: With attendees including Caterpillar, Bechtel, Citi Bank, CMA CGM, Nafith International, and AmCham Egypt, the discussion centered on the success of current investors and the business climate.

Blumberg Grain: The Chairman met with CEO Philip Blumberg to discuss establishing grain silos at East Port Said Port and developing cold chain logistics. The company announced plans to visit Egypt next week to take executive steps on the project.

In his engagements, SCZONE Chairman Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien stated that the readiness of SCZONE’s infrastructure, facilities, and port development projects positions it as a preferred global investment destination. He emphasized that The seamless integration between SCZONE’s six ports and four industrial zones supports the localization of 21 targeted sectors (including pharmaceuticals) and facilitates supply chains.
