Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), received at SCZONE’s HQ in the New Administrative Capital, H.E. Mr. Miguel Allamán Ortiaga, Ambassador of the Republic of Peru in Cairo, to discuss bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest and to explore available investment opportunities within the Authority, whether in industrial and logistics zones or in seaports affiliated with the Authority. The meeting was also attended by the Chairman’s Advisor for International Relations.
During the meeting, Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien stated that the Suez Canal Economic Zone enjoys promising investment opportunities supported by its strategic vision, which encompasses 21 diverse industrial and logistical sectors. He further explained that the integration between ports and industrial zones constitutes a main axis linking production and manufacturing stages on the one hand, with targeted global markets on the other, especially given that the Authority owns six ports on the Mediterranean and Red Seas. He also expressed his eagerness to strengthen cooperation with companies and ports in Peru across several priority sectors.
For his part, the Ambassador of Peru in Cairo expressed his pleasure at becoming acquainted with the Suez Canal Economic Zone, particularly given its role as a leading regional hub for industry and logistics, as well as a gateway connecting the continents of the world. H.E affirmed his country’s aspiration to cooperate with Egypt by building partnerships between Peruvian companies and the Suez Canal Economic Zone, especially in the field of food manufacturing, which constitutes a key pillar of Peru’s economy, in addition to cooperation in the fields of ports and logistics services, exchanging expertise in this domain, and opening new markets for both countries to enhance trade exchange.
