Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), participated in the Egypt–Bahrain Business Forum held in Cairo, with the attendance of Eng. Hassan El-Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Mr. Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance, Ms. Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development and Chief Executive of the Economic Development Council of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Mr. Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Mr. Hossam Heiba, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, and Mr. Samir Nass, Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with several  officials, business leaders, and investors from both countries.

The Chairman of SCZONE participated in the main session titled “Investment Horizons and Growth Strategies”, which gathered group of decision-makers and business representatives. In his remarks, he outlined SCZONE’s strategic vision and its role as a national project that has become a fully integrated platform for investment, manufacturing, and logistics, thanks to its unique strategic location on both banks of the Suez Canal, positioning it as a major hub for global trade.

“SCZONE has witnessed a remarkable growth in investments in recent years, with 311 industrial, logistical, and service projects contracted over the past 38 months across its industrial zones and seaports, with a total investment value of around USD 10.2 billion. Since its establishment in 2015, SCZONE has pursued a phased strategy: starting with infrastructure development, followed by empowering investors through an attractive business climate, and currently focusing on localization of targeted industries to maximize local value added. SCZONE has successfully attracted investments from more than 20 countries across different continents, combining capital, expertise, and advanced technologies, which reflects global confidence in its capabilities and underscores its position as a leading hub for international cooperation and sustainable development.” Mr.Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of SCZONE, declared.

“Today, SCZONE has become a world-class industrial and logistics hub, supported by six seaports and four major industrial zones operating at full capacity. SCZONE targets 21 diverse industrial and service sectors, including pharmaceuticals, automotive, railway components, textiles, and renewable energy industries. It is worth mentioning that the Egypt–Bahrain Business Forum serves as a key platform for strengthening economic partnerships between the two countries. The forum included bilateral (B2B) meetings between Egyptian and Bahraini business representatives to discuss opportunities for cooperation and investment integration, reflecting the depth of the relations between Egypt and the Kingdom of Bahrain and their joint commitment to advancing sustainable development.
