Building on Successful China Tour, SCZONE Chairman Receives Delegation from Guangdong Council for the Promotion of International Trade

Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), met this evening at the SCZONE’s HQ in the New Administrative Capital with an official delegation from the Guangdong Council for the Promotion of International Trade, headed by Mr. Chen Xiaofeng, President of the Council.

The meeting follows up on the discussions and meetings held by the SCZONE delegation during its recent successful promotional tour in China, which culminated in the signing of several project contracts and preliminary agreements for other anticipated projects. The meeting was attended by a group of SCZONE executive leaders and representatives from various Chinese companies.

SCZONE Chairman began the meeting with a presentation highlighting SCZONE’s key assets and competitive advantages. These include its strategic geographical location and the international free trade agreements that grant full access to various global markets. H.E. also emphasized the integration between the industrial and logistical zones and SCZONE’s affiliated ports, which contributes to bringing production and manufacturing areas closer to target markets, a concept known as “Near-Shoring.” Furthermore, The Chairman outlined the financial and non-financial investment incentives, such as tax and customs exemptions.
