With investments of $44m ,, SCZONE Chairman witnesses the groundbreaking ceremony of new production lines for the Turkish “Hayat Egypt” factory for sanitary products in Sokhna

Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), witnessed this morning the ceremony for laying the foundation stone for new production lines for the Turkish factory “Hayat Egypt” for sanitary products. The factory is being built on an area of 30,000 m² within the “Orascom Industrial Parks” developer’s zone, inside the Sokhna Integrated Zone. The new expansions are dedicated to the production of non-woven sanitary products, with total investments of $44 million. These production expansions will create more than 400 direct job opportunities, with 75% of the total production allocated for export. These lines are planned to start operating by March 2026. The ceremony was attended by: Major General Tarek El-Shazly, Governor of Suez; Ambassador Salih Mutlu Şen, the Turkish Ambassador in Cairo; Mr. Şenol Keserlioglu, General Manager of Hayat Egypt; in addition to a number of SCZONE executive leaders, and representatives of the industrial developer (Orascom Industrial Parks).

“SCZONE has recently succeeded in attracting diverse investments in the sectors targeted for localization within its strategy. The expansions of ‘Hayat Egypt’ add a new chapter to Turkish investments within the economic zone, which now number 18 companies in various sectors, most notably textiles and ready-made garments, and sanitary products. Their total investments have reached approximately $793.8 million, including 10 companies in the Sokhna integrated zone with investments of $508 million, and 8 companies in West Qantara with investment costs of $285.8 million.” H.E. Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien stated

“These expansions reflect the great confidence of Turkish investors in the investment climate within SCZONE. This comes as a result of the vigorous promotional efforts SCZONE exerted in the recent period, and the massive investments it has injected to equip the infrastructure and facilities according to the latest international standards. This is in addition to the efforts to digitize the one-stop-shop services to improve the investor experience and overcome all the challenges they face. I look forward to more investments from various countries around the world to achieve SCZONE’s vision of localizing and deepening industry in the targeted sectors, as well as enhancing Egyptian exports abroad. This is particularly relevant in light of the stability and growth that Egypt currently enjoys on both the political and economic fronts, and its distinguished international relations, which are fundamental pillars for attracting investment and transforming Egypt into an industrial base and a global logistics hub.” Added H.E. SCZONE Chairman
