Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), received a delegation from the Egyptian-British Chamber of Commerce (EBCC) along with representatives of companies operating in the fields of industry, energy, and services. The meeting, held at SCZONE’s headquarters in Sokhna, is part of the mutual commitment to strengthening economic cooperation and exploring investment opportunities across the Zone’s targeted industrial sectors and affiliated ports. The visit was attended by several executive officials from SCZONE, as well as representatives from Orascom Industrial Parks.
“SCZONE operates within an integrated vision that aims to position it as a world-class industrial and logistics hub, focusing on attracting high-value investments across 21 strategic industrial and service sectors” Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of SCZONE, declared during the meeting.
“SCZONE comprises four fully integrated industrial zones and six sea ports on both the Mediterranean and Red Seas, all supported by world-class infrastructure designed to meet investors’ needs. SCZONE offers one-stop-shop services to streamline administrative procedures, in addition to a comprehensive package of financial and non-financial incentives that enhance the overall investment environment. These features make SCZONE a prime destination for international investors seeking global market access. This is clearly demonstrated by investments from more than 20 countries, including China, India, Japan, Singapore, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, the United States, Germany, and France, reflecting the growing confidence in its competitive edge. Following the meeting, the delegation embarked on a field tour of the Sokhna Integrated Industrial Zone, which included visits to several companies operating within the Orascom Industrial Park, such as Siemens Energy, Abydos FMCG, and Siraj Industries. The tour also included an inspection of the ongoing development works at Sokhna Port, one of SCZONE’s affiliated ports, where expansion of berths and increased port capacity are underway in alignment with the Authority’s strategy to enhance efficiency and position the port as one of the Red Sea’s key maritime hubs.
