Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), today signed a contract for the establishment of the Turkish UR-SA company’s industrial textiles and plastic packaging project in the Qantara West Industrial Zone. The project, spanning 35,000 m2, represents a total investment of $20 million and is expected to create 1,000 direct job opportunities. UR-SA plans to export 80% of its production, which includes agricultural and industrial packaging materials, industrial and agricultural textiles, and the production of FIBC bags. Mr. Ugur Buyukkardeş, owner of UR-SA, signed the contract in the presence of several SCZONE executive leaders.

“The economic zone is intensifying its efforts to attract more investments in targeted sectors as part of SCZONE’s strategy. This initiative aims to deepen industrialization, support Egyptian exports, and contribute to meeting the increasing demand for various goods and products. We are achieving this by bolstering global supply chains, leveraging the integration between our ports on the Mediterranean and Red Seas and our industrial and logistical zones. The significant role of Egypt’s political and economic stability has made SCZONE a preferred destination for investors due to its strategic geographical location, the availability of trained labor, its extensive network of roads, tunnels, and ports that provide access to diverse markets, and the investment incentives we offer to our investors.” SCZONE Chairman declared on the sidelines of the signing

“The Qantara West zone is a hub for the textile and ready-made garment industry, attracting increasing interest from major manufacturers worldwide. Today’s signed contract brings the total number of contracted projects within the Qantara West Industrial Zone to 23, with total investments reaching $643.5 million and providing over 33,600 direct job opportunities.” Added H.E.
