The project is the first Thai industrial investment in SCZONE and Egypt. The project is located on an area of 64,000 square meters, with a total investment of $ 20 million, or about one billion Egyptian pounds, and provides about 2,000 direct jobs, and when fully operational, it aims to produce 6 million pieces annually, to meet the needs of global markets, especially Europe and America. “I am delighted that SCZONE has become the starting point for Thai investments in Egypt, especially the promising Qantara West zone, which has become a leading edifice for the textile and clothing industry locally and regionally. The “Hi-Tech North Africa” sportswear project in Qantara West represents a culmination of the promotional efforts SCZONE made during the past three years aimed at attracting major global investments in the sectors targeted for localization within the zone, as there are about 130 factories under construction simultaneously, which is unprecedented in SCZONE’s history. The project also represents the success of the direct investments SCZONE made in infrastructure and facilities in all industrial zones and its seaports to reach the highest international standards. The factory is expected to open early next year, and is also an affirmation of the successful partnership and close relations between Egypt and Thailand, and adds a new success story to the Qantara West zone, which is characterized by the availability of intensive technical labor, and the agricultural posterior, which promotes the localization of industries such as textiles, clothing and food industries, which in turn support value-added chains around the world, especially in light of the global challenges facing supply chains, which require more effort and integration between the public and private sectors to support Egyptian exports in These sectors are in high demand.” SCZONE Chairman declared alongside the groundbreaking ceremony.
