Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), participated as a keynote speaker in the opening session of the “Egypt Energy” conference in its 33rd edition held at the Egypt International Convention and Exhibition Center in Cairo under the theme “Empowering the Future of Sustainable Energy and Transforming Utilities”. This came within the framework of SCZONE’s efforts to achieve its strategy towards green transformation as a key partner in implementing Egypt’s Vision 2030. The economic zone aspires to become the leading regional and global hub for producing and trading green fuels and green bunkering.
“SCZONE is keen to strengthen partnerships with all parties to continue seeking to localize the green fuel industry and complementary and feeding industries within the zone. SCZONE has a unique set of investment incentives that constitute an attractive environment for investments in various sectors, especially the green fuel sector. One of the most important incentives is the unique integration between SCZONE’s seaports and industrial zones, which provides exceptional opportunities to develop integrated projects that support supply and production chains.” SCZONE Chairman declared during his official speech
“SCZONE places the green transition at the top of its priorities, recognizing the environmental and economic challenges facing the world, and our pivotal role in supporting the national economy and promoting sustainability. SCZONE has enormous potential to absorb global ambition in producing green fuels and their use in industrial and marine activities. These capabilities have been transformed into pioneering steps achieved on the ground with the successful export of the world’s first shipment of green ammonia in November 2023 through the pilot production of the Egypt Green Hydrogen Plant. The project was also awarded in July a €397 million supply contract at H2Global’s auction for supplying renewable ammonia to the EU. Thus, SCZONE has become the ideal destination for green energy activities in its various fields.” Said Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien
It is worth mentioning that the “Egypt Energy” conference, the leading energy exhibition in North Africa, aims to strengthen partnerships and networking between the various parties concerned with energy projects, solutions and transitions. It includes more than 180 leading companies in the field of energy and its various applications, in addition to many official bodies and financing institutions from different countries of the world.
