SCZONE Chairman participates as a keynote speaker in the opening session of the 33rd edition of the “Egypt Energy” conference and exhibition

Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), participated as a keynote speaker in the opening session of the “Egypt Energy” conference in its 33rd edition held at the Egypt International Convention and Exhibition Center in Cairo under the theme “Empowering the Future of Sustainable Energy and Transforming Utilities”. This came within the framework of SCZONE’s efforts to achieve its strategy towards green transformation as a key partner in implementing Egypt’s Vision 2030. The economic zone aspires to become the leading regional and global hub for producing and trading green fuels and green bunkering.

“SCZONE is keen to strengthen partnerships with all parties to continue seeking to localize the green fuel industry and complementary and feeding industries within the zone. These capabilities have been transformed into pioneering steps achieved on the ground with the successful export of the world’s first shipment of green ammonia in November 2023 through the pilot production of the Egypt Green Hydrogen Plant. The project was also awarded in July a €397 million supply contract at H2Global’s auction for supplying renewable ammonia to the EU.
