Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), met with Mr. Yuan Wusheng, General Manager of Dayun Guangzhou Automotive Company, at SCZONE’s headquarters in the Administrative Capital, in the presence of several SCZONE’s leaders, company representatives, and representatives of TEDA Egypt. The meeting discussed the company’s plans to expand the manufacture of vehicles, whether running on traditional, green or electric fuel, including various types of vehicles such as motorcycles, passenger cars, light transport, and medium and large trucks.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien reviewed the current position of the company, and discussed the company’s expansion plans to establish new production lines with the aim of deepening the industry and increasing the local component, and the production of components, and spare parts. The meeting also reviewed many models the company intends to manufacture, such as electric passenger cars, and large and medium trucks, especially those used in contracting, construction, and light transportation.
“SCZONE has many incentives, low operating costs compared to other countries, and the special incentives introduced for the automotive industry provided by the Egyptian government through the National Automotive Strategy. Egypt is interested in attracting major car manufacturers and suppliers of components and spare parts to expand and increase the proportion of local components, which has a direct impact on that important sector.”
SCZONE Chairman declared
“Dayun has a clear vision, and there are expected executive steps to expand within the economic zone in light of the unprecedented support SCZONE provides to investors operating within its scope. The Egyptian market is one of the promising markets, and the regional markets surrounding Egypt have many opportunities in light of the free trade agreements concluded by Egypt with international blocs and the privileged location that will facilitate the company’s presence in the African, European, Gulf and Middle East markets.” Said Mr. Yuan Wusheng
