SCZONE witnesses the opening ceremony of the CSCEC steel structure manufacturing plant with investments of 87.4 million RMB

Mr. Waleid Gamal El Dien, Chairman of the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), witnessed the opening ceremony of the CSCEC STEEL EGYPT factory for manufacturing steel structures of China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC Group), which is being built on an area of 27,039 square meters, with a total investment of 87.4 million RMB, with the aim of manufacturing steel structures, including technical development, design, testing, processing, and construction of steel structures, with a production capacity of 25 thousand tons annually. The project also aims to provide 200 job opportunities. The ceremony was held in the presence of Mr. Chang Weical, Chairman of China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), Mr. Liu Ai Min, Chairman of f TEDA Egypt and TEDA China Africa, and Mr. Xia Linyin, General Manager of China Steel Structure Manufacturing Company.

“The steel industry represents great importance because it is a fundamental pillar of many other industrial sectors, in addition to being an essential component in construction operations. The factory was implemented within 8 months, which is a short period of time, which expresses the success of the partnership between SCZONE and the industrial developer “TEDA – Egypt” in providing a supportive and attractive environment for investment. The near future will witness many other Chinese investments through the expansions of “TEDA – Egypt” and the various industrial zones within SCZONE, as it received during the current week several Chinese economic delegations representing various industrial sectors and Chinese provinces. They expressed their desire to invest within SCZONE due to the access it provides to various local, regional, and global markets. We are also thankful for the efforts made by the Chinese Embassy in Cairo to support economic cooperation between the two countries.” Mr. Waleid Gamal El Dien, Chairman of SCZONE declared.

“This factory is one of the pioneering projects for manufacturing steel structures, as it represents a new industrial base, not only for serving the local market in Egypt but also for serving neighboring markets, as its location in Egypt connects it to three continents: Asia and Africa. And Europe. It is considered one of the most advanced factories, as it will contain the latest production lines in the manufacture of steel structures in the Middle East region to enhance local manufacturing within Egypt, which is a pivotal country and an important economic hub, and has a wide market and enormous development potential, which made it an important part of the “Belt and Road” strategy.” Mr. Chang Weical, Chairman of (CSCEC) said.

It is worth noting that CSCEC received the Chinese National Manufacturing Corporation Award as a leading company in manufacturing steel structures. It also participated in the construction work of the Iconic Tower in the New Administrative Capital, AlFardan Bridge on the Suez Canal, and the Midea-EGYPT factory for Home Appliances.
