Mr. Waleid Gamal El Dien, Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), his accompanying delegation, and a delegation from the industrial developers of Sokhna and East Port Said industrial zones, met officials of several Indian companies working in the fields of renewable energy and the manufacture of electric motorbikes and scooters. The delegation met Mr. Ranjit Gupta, CEO of Ocior Energy, which operates in the field of renewable energy, and signed a framework agreement last December to develop green hydrogen and ammonia projects. The company is specialized in the development, construction, and operation of green fuel facilities.
“Egypt is one of the countries with a unique destination for investment, we want to integrate the business and establish green fuel projects in line with the world’s transformation to a green economy. SCZONE enjoys the ideal location for the company due to the availability of green ammonia abundant resources, as well as the elements that the SCZONE enjoys in terms of lands, facilities, and infrastructure, in addition to its proximity to the Suez Canal and seaports that facilitate the transportation of green fuel to various markets, as well as the investment incentives allocated for green fuel projects and complementary industries. All these efforts promote green fuel projects and demonstrate the commitment of Egypt to achieving a sustainable future.” The CEO of Ocior Energy said.
For his part, Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien said that SCZONE is studying all green fuel projects to meet the future growing demand for European markets.
On the other hand, the delegation met with Mr. / Parag Agarwal and Mr. / Gurmeet Singh, General Manager of the Africa and Middle East region of Hero MotoCorp, a world leader in personal transportation industries, including traditional, steam, and electric motorcycles. The company representatives expressed their interest in expanding its activity within SCZONE. The company has expressed its desire to pump investments and establish projects for it within SCZONE to manufacture electric motorbikes and scooters to meet the needs of the local market in conjunction with the transformation of the green economy, as well as exporting these products to African and European markets through SCZONE’s ports, which enhances the presence of the company’s products in these markets.
The delegation also received the Director of Business Strategy for Ador Power, Mrs. Nikhat Ansari, to discuss cooperation among SCZONE, industrial developers, and the Indian company in pumping investments for SCZONE, which is based on the manufacture of electrical analyzers and requirements for electric charging stations.
Among the meetings of the second day for the SCZONE delegation the Confederation of Indian Industry organized a round table chaired by the Vice President of the Confederation and the Regional Director of the African continent in the Confederation, to demonstrate the available opportunities in front of officials of Indian companies specialized in the manufacture of electric batteries, food, textile industries, and others specialized in labor vocational training centers. The round table included a presentation about SCZONE, its components, incentives, and the targeted industries in which Indian companies can operate.
After the meeting, the chairman of SCZONE discussed with a member of the Confederation the possibility of cooperating with SCZONE regarding establishing a technical and vocational training center for labor, similar to the Siemens Training Center and the El Sewedy School for Technical Education, which will be launched next January.
