Within the political leadership directives to attract more diversified foreign investments, and within the framework of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) efforts to localize targeted economic sectors according to the 2020/2025 strategy, Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, chairman of SCZONE, and the accompanying delegation left Cairo, this morning, heading to the Indian capital, Delhi. This visit aims to deepen the cooperation with Indian to establish various Indian projects within SCZONE- ports and industrial zones, following the visit of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to India last January.
This visit is the third promotional tour for SCZONE in the Asian continent, with the aim of attracting companies operating in many sectors, most notably new energy, infrastructure, petrochemicals, heavy industries, and green fuel companies. It will also include discussing means of cooperation with several ports to enhance joint work in the field of logistics.
“These visits come as part of the promotional plan that SCZONE is targeting during the current year to demonstrate the investment opportunities for one of the most important promising economic hubs (SCZONE), which is the main gateway to African markets for all investors, in addition to its geographical location alongside the Suez Canal passageway. We coordinate this tour with Mr. Wael Hamed, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to India, to arrange several meetings with major Indian companies in order to attract targeted industries to SCZONE” Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, chairman of SCZONE declared.
Its worth to be mentioned that, there is an important presence of several Indian projects in the Sokhna industrial zone during the current year, as it is represented by the Flex Company for Polyethylene Production and the Abados Group for Cosmetics. SCZONE delegation is accompanied by several industrial developers, including Orascom for Industrial parks, El Sewedy for Industrial Development in Sokhna, and a representative of East Port Said Development Company. This visit also comes after a joint meeting between the Chairman of SCZONE and Mr. Ajit Gupta, Ambassador of the State of India to Cairo, during the preparations for this promotional tour.
